There Is Reward For Faithful Service – Minister Assures Christians

At a time when people expect immediate reward for their good deeds, Christians are advised to give selfless and sacrificial services wherever they find themselves.

The Moderator, Enugu North Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, the Right Rev Gloria Okarazu gave the advice at the last regular meeting of the Presbytery held at Trans Ekulu Parish, Enugu.

Rt Rev Okarazu asked Ministers to be committed to serving members of their congregations at all times, whether it is convenient or not.

“That is the essence of your calling. Do not allow pecuniary interests to shape your Ministry.”

Quoting from I Cor 15:58, the Moderator assured Ministers and Christan workers alike that their labour or love would not be in vain.

“Our service will not be empty acts that result in nothing, fruitless, pointless and having no purpose.

“Our labour for the Lord, no matter how difficult and wearisome, will never be without meaning or value, before God,” she said.

Rt Rev Okarazu urged the various Sub – Committees and Departments in the Presbytery to exercise their mandate with utmost dedication and love.

At the meeting, new committees were constituted to enhance mission, evangelical and pastoral care in the Presbytery.

Team leaders were ratified as follows:
